ESPRIT de Corps is a scholarship program for anyone with a STEM degree who meets our admissions requirements and has a strong desire to pursue a teaching career.
ESPRIT de Corps is a program of the College of Science and Technology. The departments of Natural Science and Mathematics and Statistics both offer dual credit programs in conjunction with the MAT.
The MAT degree and the certification process are provided through the Urban Education Department.
ESPRIT graduates become part of a rich community of STEM educators. Relationships are forged at UHD and maintained through faculty mentoring, HUNSTEM, and our extensive network of UHD graduates teaching in area schools.

ESPRIT de Corps is an NSF/Noyce funded program that offers graduates with a STEM degree and working STEM professionals scholarships to earn mathematics or science teacher certification and a Master's of Teaching (MAT) degree. Students have the added option of earning a UHD Professional Certificate in Dual-Credit Math or Science Teaching which will allow students to teach dual-credit courses in high school and to teach college-level mathematics or science at community colleges and four-year institutions. This is a great opportunity for professionals considering changing careers and considering middle or high school teaching full-time!
