The Teacher Enhancement (also known as Houston START Teacher Institute) will provide content knowledge through “Hands-On” and “Minds-On” experiences that are inquiry-based, as well as innovative instructional strategies for teaching integrated science and mathematics.
All high school teachers from the Greater Houston Area are invited to apply.
Our next institute will be held on June 5-16, 2008. We will meet in classrooms and laboratories of the UHD Department of Natural Sciences from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
There is no cost to you to attend this workshop, in fact, we will pay you. Participants will receive stipends of $72/day ($720 upon completion of the program). Your school district will pay $450 for the Pre-AP certification, yet TEA may reimburse them.
Transportation and meals are not provided; however, the UHD cafeteria will be open, and parking will be arranged.
Deadline to apply is March 28, 2008.
